LGBTQ+ Audit for Wedding Vendors
Do you want to develop a more LGBTQ+ friendly business, but don’t know where to start? Does the fear of saying something wrong stop you from offering the same level of care to all your couples? Let us help!
With our LGBTQ+ inclusivity audit, we meet you where you are without judgment. Our goal is to help you cultivate a welcoming space to not only attract more LGBTQ+ couples, but to provide an exceptional experience for them once you’re hired.
During the audit, we review your website, questionnaires, and social media profiles to provide tangible steps you can take to ensure all your couples feel welcome and seen when interacting with your brand. Then we hop on a strategy call to go over the feedback and give you a chance to answer any questions you might have.
Because this is a one on one process, it’s perfect for vendors with a variety of different backgrounds:
If you’re coming to the process with a decent amount of experience, that’s great! We’ll make sure that no unconscious biases sneak their way into your copy. We will identify ways you can make couples feel even more cared for— from their first interaction with your brand, all the way through their reception send-off. It’s okay if you’ve never worked with anyone from the queer community before, as long as your goal is to make sure your LGBTQ+ couples have the same amazing experience as your cishet couples. We will work with you to make sure you’re confident and ready to do just that!
Who will be performing the audit?
Your content will always be reviewed by two sets of eyes!
Sarah Katherine Davis (she/they) is a Queer wedding photographer who has been in the wedding industry for over a decade. She is the director of Inclusive Kentucky Weddings and will be your point of contact during the audit! Sarah brings not only her experience as a wedding professional to the process, but also her knowledge from her time spent as the Director of Marketing at Louisville Visual Art.
Joyce Barbour (she/they) is a transfeminine multimedia artist & teacher. She served as the communications chair on the Girls Rock Louisville board and was the Social Media & Marketing Manager at Zoom Group. Joyce has a diverse range of work experience including wedding videography— allowing her to have a solid understanding of the wedding industry while still being removed enough from it that she brings a fresh outsider’s perspective.
We also bring the experience of being a married couple who are both a part of the LGBTQ+ community! During an audit, we each sit down to review your content separately and then combine our notes into a final document that Sarah will share with you to discuss during your strategy call.

How are you letting LGBTQ+ couples know that you go beyond being LGBTQ+ friendly?

Are you making assumptions about your clients based on gender?
Are you sharing photos of LGBTQ+ couples & are you doing so in a way that isn’t tokenizing?
Are there any opportunities for your business to be more affirming on wedding days?
