LGBTQ+ Friendly Wedding Officiants
Emily Foerster Coleman
“Ceremonies that celebrate the fundamental essence of your unique partnership.”
Owner: Emily Foerster Coleman (she/her)
Established: 2016
Services: Every relationship has a “fingerprint,” but I feel that so many officiants don’t uncover each couple’s uniqueness thoroughly enough and allow it to shape the ceremony. Asking a friend to officiate can help with this (and you should ask them!) but not everyone is skilled at crafting and delivering a ceremony that is so important to you and your families. I want your guests to truly know you (and your partnership) so they can love and support you both better throughout your lives.
I will spend a lot of time with you before your ceremony, getting to know you both on a personal level, and letting you get to know me. I will write a custom ceremony, as long or short as you want it, as spiritual or atheistic as is important to you, that is completely personal. I guarantee that your ceremony will stand out in the minds of your guests as one that was so perfectly “you.”
Member Statement: “There is a long road ahead to true acceptance of LGBTQ folks in this country, and especially in the South. Empathy is at the root of social change. I want to be a force that helps celebrate you while leading your diverse families and communities in how to truly honor your love by seeing themselves in you.”

“Celebrations of Love, tailored for YOU!”
Owners: Jacque Saltsman
Established: 2011
Services: I am available to officiate weddings, celebrations of births and transitions, or to write a simple prayer or blessing for any event. My involvement depends on your needs. I can create the entire ceremony myself using ideas and preferences I get from meeting and getting to know the clients. I can also be handed instructions the day-of and just show up to do my part. It’s up to you. I am happy to work with you, in whatever capacity, to create the most memorable and authentic experience that truly reflects who you are.
Member Statement: “Love is love and I want every single person to know they deserve it. Weddings and special events can be very stressful. Worrying about being judged for who you are or who you love should never be part of that stress. I want all people to feel loved and free to be exactly who they are and to be able to celebrate that love however they want.”

“And we are put on earth a little space, That we may learn to bear the beams of love" - William Blake”
Owner: Leah Raidt (they/she)
Established: 2025
Services: – WEDDING OFFICIANT: After writing ceremonies and officiating three very different weddings for three very different couples in my life, I am now offering my services to my wider community! Officiating weddings through a spiritually queer, interfaith lens honors a deep vocation within me, and uniquely aligns all of my talents, skills, and past experience (see member statement for more on that). I am interested in helping you create an intentional ceremony that best reflects your story, and honors your beliefs, ancestral lineages, and traditions. I can develop and write a ceremony of any length on my own or in collaboration with you and your loved ones. I can direct ceremony rehearsals. I am open and flexible to what serves you best! Available to travel.
– RITUAL/CEREMONY CONSULTING: I can support you in building individual or group spiritual practices, rituals, and ceremonies that honor the divinity in your LGBTQ+ identity and experience. For weddings, I can guide you and/or your officiate of choice through the process of designing, writing and performing a wedding ceremony. For the betrothed, I can guide the process of writing and declaring vows. In addition to handling necessary research to provide streamlined options that fit with your intentions and belief systems, wedding/vow sessions will develop skills for public speaking and nervous system regulation. Consulting sessions may also be used to create or guide rituals (for individuals or groups of any size) that honor coming out, gender expansion and transition, birth and death. Examples include coming out parties, personal rituals before/after top surgery, and non-denominational memorials. Consulting sessions can be virtual or in-person.
–MEDITATION TRAINING: I am a trauma-informed meditation teacher in the Vedic lineage, with additional training in mindfulness and somatic practices. I offer 1:1 and group meditation training courses, retreats and workshops. I am available to guide somatic and meditation practices to support you and your wedding party on the big day, or as part of bach parties and pre-wedding activities.
– HOST / MC: I am a party! Need someone to bring the hype!? I am here for that, too.
Member Statement: “I am a queer, non-binary, interdisciplinary artist and trauma-informed meditation teacher proudly based in Louisville, KY. My mission as a Creative-Spiritual Leader is to uplift and advance LGBTQ+ artists and narratives toward our collective liberation. Officiating weddings through a spiritually queer lens honors a deep vocation within me, and uniquely aligns with my mission, talents, skills, and past experience. As a life-long spiritual seeker, I possess a robust knowledge of sacred texts, both religious and literary, originating from Catholic, Buddhist, Vedic, Sufi and yoga traditions. I engage queer theory in my studies and teachings of the contemplative and mystical. I hold a BFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University, and spent the first 12 years of my career working consistently as an actor and teaching artist resulting in transferable skills such as dynamic stage presence, effective public speaking, improv training, facilitation, and an intuitive understanding of theatrical storytelling. As a director/producer, I have brought many LGBTQ+ stories to life on stage and screen, so I am highly skilled at creative producing, managing large groups of people, and executing collaborative, creative projects from inception to fruition. My deepest intention in offering these services is to transmit a felt-sense of divinity that is unapologetically queer and gender-expansive."
